Anne's gone...Anne Shirley, for those of you who knew 'er. Didn't turn up at the apartment for a day or so an' it weren't like 'er t'do that.

So I got worried an' checked that hall - Hall of the Missing? - an' 'er picture was up there.

'm glad she got t'go back 'ome to 'er family. I'll miss 'er though.

[in a softer voice] Guess it's just you an' me again, yeah, Tiger? [and there's a short answering bark from her dog before the feed cuts off.]

I'm sorry you're down a roommate, Freckles.

Do you and Tiger want to come over for a while? I was thinking about making hot chocolate.

That's the way things go sometimes. Just remember that you'll get to go home someday, too.

Great! I'll get the water boiling.

That'll make it all the better when you go back, right?

I'll see you!

Well... no. Not always, I guess. Some people do, though. I mean, I've talked to a couple of people who remembered things when they were at home. It'd be nice, I think--going home and getting to keep your memories.

Mm hm, that's what they said.

Maybe it's best not to think about that now. No one really knows what happens after the City--when you leave permanently, I mean--so there's no sense worrying about it.

Definitely.

And you know you're always welcome to come over whenever you want, right? Even if you don't need anything.

Sure thing, and thank you right back.

She did leave, then.

We always miss those who are gone.

Parting is always a bit painful, but. It doesn't have to be forever.

Ah... well. Really, really well, actually.

[identity profile] innovatorgps.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm. And I hope it will be that way for you, too.

It's not so bad- getting used to it will make you more prepared.

Unexpected partings are always the most difficult.

Well, most of us are waiting for it to happen, at least.
