S'a bit strange not to 'ave the sun come up. Should be used to this kinda thing by now. The fireworks are right pretty though, ain't they? 've been watchin' 'em...Tiger keeps on runnin' t'hide under the couch when 'e 'ears 'em though.

[She laughs, but it tapers away to an uncertain pause before she continues.]

...are any of ya 'ere again? Beast? Joker or Dagger or Wendy or Jumbo or anyone? Even my old friends who used t'be 'ere too. 've been lookin' for all of ya but there's so many people around.

Nah, I don' think I 'ave, the name don' sound familiar at all.

Well, it is a city in which reality works a little bit differently than what you expect it too. Anvils being dropped on heads is practically an everyday occurrence there, the only real danger it presents is if you are wearing something particularly nice, bird droppings being what they are...

Huh...an' I thought bein' 'ere where people come back t'life was strange! Probably better the other way if they really don' get 'urt at all in the first place. What else 'appens there?

Deranged experiments, general disregard for the law of causality, physics and copious amounts of cross-dressing. I managed to avoid the latter due to looking decidedly unflattering in an evening gown, but there were some among us who could really make for convincing members of the other gender~!

[laughing] I seem t'manage that even without bein' there. Don' know how some people can't tell 'm a girl though.

But that place seems like it's right mad, don't it? Though if I got used to the City bet I'd get used to it there too.

Ah? You frequently dress up in men's attire, then? Perhaps you should have been there too, might have made a smashing success as we did!

Of course, by smashing success I mean that a wild band of gorillas at one point stormed the stage, kidnapped master Valentine because the man looks absolutely stunning in red and destroyed the bar, but we managed to solve that situation well enough!

Boys' clothes are a lot more comfortable, least next to the things that girls are supposed to wear in my world! Back 'ome people think it's strange of me but no one seems to mind 'round 'ere. Only time I don' wear 'em 's when I'm in my circus costume.

Hah...don' think I'd mind seein' that place at all! Bit crazy but seems like all of ya 'ad a right good time there.

Ah, I understand. Many of the women in my world in physically tiresome vocations could hardly be expected to wear frilly skirts and dainty silk-gloves, when they need to pull, hammer and build! But I must confess that I am dash curious as to how you look in that costume now~.

Oh, we most certainly did! Save perhaps master Valentine, but by the time we were thrown home by the gigantic catapult all ended happi... ly... of course, then there was the matter with the clowns and the piano and... no, no I believe it is safe to say that we all had a good time except for master Valentine.

Yeah, 'xactly, it jus' wouldn't be practical for 'round the circus. Well...I can show you if you like? It don' take me that long to put it on.

[chuckling a bit] A gigantic catapult, clowns an' a piano too, 'sides all that other stuff? Cor, that place don' 'alf know how to stir things up then. The City ain't got anythin' on it.

Yoohohoho, I would not mind whatsoever my lady! A gentleman should know patience if it nets him a pleasant gain~.

Ah, it was most certainly a... refreshing change of pace, all things considered. It was back to the encampment after that... back to saying many farewells.

A change wouldn't be bad, but 'm startin' not to mind the City too much either.

An'...alright then. Give me a couple of minutes.

[shows up again after a few minutes in her circus costume and headdress, smoothing down her skirt.]

[Oh my word she is the most adorable thing in the whole wide WORLD.]

My goodness, how anyone could think you anything less than a lady is most certainly beyond my comprehension. Why I find myself at a lack for words to describe the lovely sight before my eyes~!... and a lack of eyeballs at that! Yoohohoho!

[Rubbing a bit awkwardly at the back of her head but she's smiling at the compliment anyway.]

You'd be surprised, been called a boy even when I was dressed like this once! But thanks - 'm not really that pretty or anythin' though, 's just the costume.

[Oh Doll, awkwardness is so far beyond this old bag of bones. He flatters without regard for what is proper or what may sound insincere to others, for when you've lived fifty years alone and surrounded by the skeletons of the friends you sailed into death's maw you... tend to get a little bit off about social graces.]

But a costume can only do so much, my lady~ It enhances your beauty, true, but just by saying that I furthermore claim there is beauty beneath it to enhance!

[Doll finds it hard to believe anyone really thinks she's pretty because - well, there's a reason half her face is always hidden either by her hair or her headdress. But it's nice to hear anyway, no matter how he says it.]

Well...if you say so then, thank you, really. Don' usually bother dressin' up or anythin', usually seems like a waste of time.

Ah, the type who can think of more amusing ways to spend their time than putting on their prettiest face? Well, hardly something I for one find very objectionable, I can imagine there are many things to entertain yourself with in a vast city like this one!

Hah, yeah, somethin' like that. [there's a sad smile for just a second at 'prettiest face'. Not much she can do about it.] An' there's a lot of things to do 'ere, more'n you'd think! Between workin' an' everythin', an' I've been helpin' Penny with the Welcome Center she set up, you 'ardly notice the time goin' by.

Welcome Center? Oh, you mean that you run some kind of service for new arrivals then?

Yeah, that's it! Just to 'elp out a bit, explain stuff an' all that, givin' out copies of the guides an' how to work the devices, an' a place to stay for a couple of days for new arrivals who can't find anythin' else. Helpin' out with food an' clothes too, just to get people back on their feet since usually everyone only 'as the clothes on their back when they get 'ere.

My word... to provide such a wonderful service out of the goodness of ones heart~! I knew you possessed a radiant smile, but I have only ever beheld a heart so shimmering once before... and that was because the man had literally gotten his glowing heart torn out of his ribcage, so that may not really count! Yoohohoho!
